Cron Fields

Minute (0-59): When to run the job. Hour (0-23): Hour of the day. Day of Month (1-31): Day of the month. Month (1-12 or JAN-DEC): Month of the year. Day of Week (0-7 or SUN-SAT): Day of the week (0 and 7 both represent Sunday).

Special Characters

* (asterisk): Any value. , (comma): Value list separator. - (hyphen): Range of values. / (slash): Step values. Example: */15 in minute field = every 15 minutes.

Preset Schedules

Every minute: * * * * *. Every hour: 0 * * * *. Every day at midnight: 0 0 * * *. Every Sunday at midnight: 0 0 * * 0. Every Monday at 9am: 0 9 * * 1. Every weekday at 9am: 0 9 * * 1-5. First day of month at 12am: 0 0 1 * *. Last day of month at 12am: 0 0 L * *.

Human-Readable Description

Next Run Times

Linux vs AWS EventBridge

Linux cron uses 5 fields (minute, hour, day-of-month, month, day-of-week). AWS EventBridge uses 6 fields (adds year) and uses ? for unspecified day fields. The tool supports both formats.
